A free .co.uk domain for those in England

[Codeworks]

I thought this offer might interest some of you.

You do need a valid UK IP, address, and mobile phone number, so, sorry anyone who's from outside the UK, this will not apply to you.

OVH are offering free .co.uk domains for one year. Now, .co.uk domains can be registered for a minimum of two years, and I presume this is where they are attempting to make their money back; but, if you just want a free domain for one year to see if it's worth it, this offer is totally for you.

You just sign up, they send a message to your phone with a number in it, and you confirm the number with them, the domain is created in about a half hour.

With DNS propogation, it took me about 4 hours to get my free .co.uk up and directing folks to my site.

Enjoy, and I hope someone gets something out of this:

u need to register the domain fo a period of atleast 2 year and it simply costs 1 year fees plus some additional taxes..also they are offering services like hosting and others for a reasonable price but 2 are attached already costing around 3 gbp... hell the services are.do not buy.better u people buy from other providers selling them for cheap not for free.and even if buying from a good company not offering discount ask me for a promo coupon.may be i will provide...decision is urs

There's always a catch the site says

It will not be possible to transfer a .uk domain registered as part of the promotion
until the renewal fee for the second year has been paid in full.

I agree that offer is good but providing mobile number is somebit suspicious. It needs some attention.
