In using a free host, of course, you get what you pay for, but a lot of them really aren't that bad. Some of them will investigate for spamming activity, such as attempting to run a "drug store" site. If you're just starting out on a shoestring budget though, it's a good beginning. Yes, a lot of them have advertising and popups, but some of them just have a footer at the bottom, encouraging others to signup. Weebly is a good one, I've used them for a couple years as a hobby site.

Nope, free Hosting can never be trusted. If you have a personal website like a blog then you can opt for Free Hosting but if its a E-commerce website or a forum then a Free Host can't be trusted.

I disagree, but just from personal experience. Some years ago I used a free host with my own domain name, and didn't have any problems. I used it as an affiliate to sell another company's products. I made some money with it before the company went under, from product infringement. Unfortunately, at the time, I didn't know anything about SEO and blew the money I made on Google Adwords.

I think I understand the concern here. I've said that I like Weebly; I've used it free for a couple, three years and haven't had a problem. They do have paid hosting though. They aren't going to break your trust because they'd like you to sign up for a year or more and pay them something. You guys are right, though, I'd never trust a 100 percent free host.
