Currently having 2% to 4% keyword density is perfect for any kind of article. Sometime your article is big and you don't need to use your keyword most of time so your keyword density would be 1% or lower but still it's good and look natural in the google's eye.

100% agree Jim. Keyword Density is no more valuable from long time now. Google does not look at keyword density, they look at your content, its relevancy, its originality and its usefulness.
