Keyword density is described as being the ratio between the word being searched for, the keyword, and the total quantity of words on a given web page where the keyword appears. For example, if your keyword occurs only one time on a page that is comprised of 500 words or more, then you have a lower keyword density in comparison to a keyword appearing six or seven times on the same page or a page of a similar length.

I can only assume that you didn't read the article quoted here http://www.usatoday.com/tech/produc...imization_N.htm. It explains that density does not matter.

Well, actually there are two types of keyword density:
        1) Keyword density with respect to the content
        2) Keyword density with respect to the text

Keyword Density with respect to the content: number of keywords/whole number of words in the content - HTML

Keyword Density with respect to the text: number of keywords/whole number of keywords in the content *100

Yes, I think you're right. For any competitive niche keywords density really matters. Maitaining proper density and proper placing of keywords within your page can help you to stay one step ahead in your competition.

I think GOogle do not emphasis on Keyword density that much as it was doing before.

Even not even concerned about meta tags or meta keywords...Keywords are best to emphasis when you are using Google adsense. The reason is that Adsense generates ads based on keywords on that page..

3-5% density is considered to be ideal.

Keyword densityis the ratio of the word that is being searched for, ie thekeyword, against the total number of words appearing on a given web page. If your keyword occurs only once or twice in a page of 500 or more words, obviously it has a lower keyword density than a keyword that would occur six or seven times in a page of similar length.

Keyword density is the number of incidence that a given keyword appears on a web page. The more times that a given word appears on your page within reason, the more weight that word is assigned by the search engine when that word matches a keyword search done by a search.

Keyword density goes back to the early days of the internet when keyword stuffing of tags and content actually worked. It hasn't been useful for many years. Ignore this and you will never notice the difference.

keyword density is the ratio of the word that is being searched for (the keyword) against the total number of words appearing on your web page. If your keyword occurs only (say) once in a page of one thousand words, it has a lower keyword density than a keyword that occurs (say) four times in a page of similar length.

Keyword density is a throwback term. It was developed when keyword stuffing was in vogue as SEO. It has been obsolete for some time now.

Simple way to develop site's placement in search engine results is to work on keyword density. Keyword density is ratio of word that is being searched for the keyword against total number of words appearing on web page.
