I like SMF (Simple Machines Forum) for a free forum. It's clean, and pretty intuitive. For a paid forum, I prefer Vbulletin.

Re: Your Favourite Forum Software ?

I find phpBB very easy to use and I've had no security issues so far.

If my forum becomes successful though, I would upgrade to vBulletin for the extra features.

Re: Your Favourite Forum Software ?

vBulletin is the best but unfortunately it cost money. I like phpBB coz it has lot of Mods and nice skins but if you don't update patches regularly can be hacked easly. so i think SMF is one i like to use.

My favorite is phpBB. coz there are a lot of free mods and templates available for it. MyBB is also gud. It is from the makers to wordpress.

Re: Your Favourite Forum Software ?

vBulletin <-- If you've got the money. Tonnes of features/mods to look out for.
phpBB <-- If you've not the money. Again, tonnes of addons to look out for, but, definitely not as good as vB .
SMF <-- One BIGG thumbs down to it for its crappy security. I had my forum hacked twice with it, before I moved to vB. I actually got vB bcoz of the attacks.
Also, SMF has got very few skin options, and mod/addons too. Its still in the childish state.

ITs surely Vbulletin . Vbulletin the advance forum of all other php forum software . It has great features as compared to other and the main thing is about its security which is the most important thing while the other forum software dont have such a good security .

I initially started out with phpbb but found out about all of the holes in the security of it a couple years back and now I have a SMF forum that is kinda cute.
