That's a good point. Go with free hosting until it's really ready to get off the ground. I think I'm going to go that route.

Surely it's the right direction if you want to have some experienc for something more.

I have always chosen paid because free hosts don't usually work out as well for the search engines... and I can't use some of my affiliate programs on free hosts.

I prefer a paid host, you have more facilities and add-ons also tech support on standby..

Bfluid and Bmint, you both make some good points. When I'm ready to launch my site I'll definitely upgrade from free hosting. I don't want anything stopping my site's progress!

high costed hosting only works for a lrge time
i have seen cheap hosts are going down as soon as they start

If your looking for quality hosting with good uptime, then its best to go with paid hosting. Even with paid hosting, you have to ensure that you do not go for the cheapest, as you should know by now that cheap doesn't mean reliable.

i was preferred for free hosting.
but now after year experience, free hosting is always bad.
bad uptime, bad support & no guarantee when it will down.

well, it all depends on loads of factors...

first of all, I would not like to pay through my nose just in order to keep a site of my class mates running... hence I have it on a free webspace...

if I were to have a blog and wish to mint money off it, I should naturally try to pay for it... and yet again, me being a student, I have stuck to free hosting... that is, until I get my first pay-check from Google *wicked*

Free is good if from a trusted company as like Google.. and it is bad if it's a new company on the road.

Start with free web hosting and after that switch to paid web hosting.First check how your websites work before switching too paid web space.Most of web desginer follow this rule.
